Groundhog Day Jewelry Gift Guide for Groundhog Day, originating on February 2,.  It’s halfway between the spring equinox and winter solstice.  This is is the ancient pagan festival of Imbolc, from which Groundhog Day is derived. It’s officially made public on February 2. We may expect six more weeks of cold if Phil sees his shadow.

The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club makes the annual journey to Gobbler’s Knob.  This is the official home of Punxsutawney Phil. On February 2, everyone dresses in tuxedos and top hats.  The group awaits Phil’s exit from his burrow.  The city will enjoy an extra six weeks of winter if Phil sees his shadow.

Phil has never been incorrect with his forecasts, says the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. In contrast, Phil’s success rate in the last decade was 40%.  His overall success rate was 39%, according to the Stormfax Almanac and NOAA.
