One of the earliest Celtic motifs, the triskele, also implies “everlasting life.” The spiral’s whirls represent growth, while the intervals between them represent the transitions between life, death, and rebirth. Water, fire, and earth are the three powers of nature represented by this three-sided knot. Symbols of unity and oneness can be seen in these designs, which contain a single line.
