Beads come in an infinite number of materials, colors, and shapes. Millimeters are used to measure the size of beads. We use glass, acrylic, resin, gemstones, freshwater pearls, and metal beads. They can be hand-shaped or machine-cut into a wide range of shapes and sizes. Our pendants are made primarily of metal alloys, such as pewter, silver filled, or sterling silver. Also available in silver or gold plated alloys, brass, copper, and pewter. They are measured in either inches or meters. We make an effort to include both.
Crystal beads are high quality glass beads with more than 10% lead oxide. Top quality Austrian crystals are as high as 32%. Crystals can also be made from rock crystals.
Crystal beads are high-quality glass beads that contain more than 10% lead oxide. The purity of top-quality Austrian crystals can reach up to 32%. Rock crystals are also referred to as crystals. Czech glass is extremely valuable. It is glass made in the Czech Republic’s former regions of Bohemia and Silesia. It has a centuries-long history of being recognized internationally for its high quality, craftsmanship, beauty, and often innovative designs.
Dichroic glass is created by melting layers of metal oxides together in a furnace. The lovely color play is truly beautiful.
An artisan creates lampwork glass beads and pendants by shaping molten glass with a steel mandrel. In the variety of designs available, amazing animals, flowers, and other shapes are simply breathtaking.
Metal beads come in a variety of metals. They can be made of brass, copper, steel, pewter, zinc, or precious metals, and can be cast or machined.
Freshwater pearls are created by embedding a seed or other shape within a mollusk. Some of the colors are created through dyeing or radiation. Natural hues include creamy white, peach, and pink.
Resin beads are made of synthetic resin and can be made to look like stone, sea glass, cinnabar, or metal. Color is only limited by the materials used to create it. Resin beads are lightweight and versatile, and they can be used in a variety of patterns.
Stone beads are also known as semiprecious or gemstone beads. They are made of natural stones that have been cut and shaped. They can be colored, heated, irradiated, or coated with resin or wax. Some stones are now man-made.
The Mohs Hardness Scale compares the resistance of a mineral to being scratched by ten reference minerals. The test is useful because most specimens of a given mineral have very close hardness values. As a result, hardness is a reliable diagnostic property for the majority of minerals. The scale, for example, is a chart of the relative hardness of various minerals. 1 represents the softest talc and 10 represents the hardest diamond.
While there is no universal grading system, many gemstone beads are graded according to their quality, color, cut, and clarity (similar to how diamonds are graded).
The grading of gemstones is done by letter. The highest grade is AAA, and the lowest is D.
