The greenish threads in JMoss agate, also known as mocha stone, resemble growing moss or other plants. In the Arabian city of Mocha in Yemen, which was an ancient source of the gemstone, the alternative name is Mochalite. As far as interchangeability goes, there’s some debate about the matter. It has been argued that mocha stone should only be used for certain types of moss agate that are brown or red in hue.
Jasper is available in a wide range of colors. Fancy jasper is recognized for its delicious color palette, including mauves, lilacs, creams, and greens. “Jasper” is derived from the Greek word iaspi, which means “spotted stone.” Jasper is a mineral that has been utilized for thousands of years worldwide.
